H.O.T.

H.O.T. spells hot.  And yes, it certainly describes our summer right now!  But I’m chanting a different tune today –  H.O.T. is for hop on track!  Hop on track where the rubber meets the road.

That saying, where the rubber meets the road, is about taking action.  When you take action you are able to move forward and toward the life you desire.  It creates turning points where you are continually seeing different possibilities and ways of doing things.  Setting intentions and visualizing are impactful components to creating that emotional pull and inspiration.  Hopping on track then lets you live it out in your every day experience.

Take action with what you know right now.  There is no exact roadmap with the perfect course plotted out before you get started.  What does it take to H.O.T?   How about trying on courage and a learning attitude.  To step into your courage, reflect back to that intention and vision I spoke of above.  Connect with how it feels to have that.  And imagine your response when it comes with ease and a touch of fun.  With a learning attitude there is no success or failure.  Upon taking action, you will gain new understanding and clarity to help guide your next action steps.   You will have those continual turning points where you eagerly look around the corner at what’s next.  Just keep looking and turning.

So, let this summertime heat be a continual reminder of H.O.T.  It does require action, but it does not require you to sweat. 🙂

Standing In Truth

Lately, I’ve been in many conversations talking about “grassroots” efforts.  What is this about?  I see two components to this.  One is about a sense of connection and being part of something.  The other is very individualized and about standing in ones truth.    These collective and individual components mold together and create grassroots movements.  It’s about understanding what’s most important to you and an ability to walk your talk along with others.  Creating shifts in our actions as a community and as a world, begins with individuals.  It’s a determination.  It’s a decision and choice in the truth you want to live and not waiting on someone else to do that for you.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

~Margaret Mead, American cultural anthropologist

Truth is power and it resides within each person.  Understanding it and doing something with it is up to you.  If you want to stand in your truth and be part of a grassroots movement, see if you answer “Yes” to each of the following questions:

Can you speak openly and honestly with your friends about your beliefs in life?

Do you seek out and surround yourself by people who stretch you?

Do you feel like you’re an important part of something?

Limit Those Limitations Today

I had this quote from Buddha shared with me this week – The mind that perceives the limitation is the limitation.  We may not be able to throw out our mind, but the good news is we can choose what we fill it with and how we use it!

I heard a great story on Ellen this week about a female LSU soccer player named Mo Isom.  She is living in a world of possibilities, believing in herself, and striving for that which is outside “the norm”.  Way to go Mo!  The goal she is working towards… to literally be kicking goals for the  #1 college football team, LSU, as their first female kicker.  Mo shares that her life has had challenges during these college years from her father’s suicide to a dangerous car wreck that left her very beat up.  Through life’s happenings, she sees her abilities at limitless.  See her clip with Ellen by Clicking Here.

Also, I must give a shout out to Ellen!!!  She highlights, showcases, and embraces the expansiveness of life.  Thank you Ellen:)

Another sweet example in my life of limitlessness is my new niece Nora Bella.  I realize we don’t try to tell a baby what it can or cannot do.  We just love it and say “What might you be one day?  Oooh the possibilities…”  I think Nora Bella may be an Elvis impersonator, or maybe not.  She is adorable!  That I know for sure.

I know the possibilities are far and beyond my mind for this sweet bundle of greatness and I will love her everyday.  Now, what if you looked at each of your days in that way?  Loving yourself and knowing there continues to be unlimited ways that your path may unfold.  Is your mind seeing those paths in a limited view or an expansive one?  Begin by seeing those around you with this love and unlimited potential.  What is that experience like?  That is exactly what to do with yourself!

Here’s to your unlimited potential!!!

Inspired Action

I watched, for a second time, the movie The Secret.  The core message of the movie is about the law of attraction.  It’s always helpful to be reminded that like energy attracts like energy.  The thoughts and core beliefs that we buy into physically manifest into our lives.  It isn’t necessarily spontaneous and we may not realize it – that energy is constantly flowing.

I love the way Deepak Chopra explains in his book The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success that a seed has the  hidden energy, or pure potential, to sprout several trees.  We also have many hidden energies that manifest all around us.  The law of attraction tells us, there are so many possibilities and opportunities in life, choose what you want.  That should be easy, right?  Remember, it’s our core beliefs and thoughts that are  attracting like energy.  What are your core thoughts and beliefs?  Are they all roses and rainbows?  We’ve all heard it said, “fake it til you make it.”  I say be inspired by the vision you have for life – your hopes, your dreams, your happiness.  Allow that vision to be your focus and be inspired to action!  When you focus on that vision of hope and happiness, then you will tap into those possibilities.  Pay attention to your intuition and creative thoughts.

Allow your excitement and heart to guide you in your inspired actions.
